Raymond J Robertozzi, born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed away on October 8, 2024, in Hillside. He was a beloved member of the community whose legacy will be cherished by many.
Raymond dedicated substantial part of his life to serving the town of Hillside, working for the Department of Public Works for 20 years before his retirement. His commitment his work was indicative of his strong sense of duty and pride in contributing to the betterment of his community.
He honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Beyond his professional achievements, Raymond held a deep passion for driving, often seen at the wheel of his cherished 1954 Black Ford. His love for classic cars led him to become a long-standing member of the Galloping Hill Cruisers, where he fostered friendships and shared his enthusiasm for automotive history with fellow enthusiasts. He also contributed to his local community as a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Hillside.
Raymond leaves behind his companion, Shelley Mandy, who stood by his side through many adventures. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Lauren Contreras, step-grandchildren, Ramon and Chloe, as well as his son-in-law, Franklin. He was a cherished brother to Marylou Robertozzi and Lucille Brugger, and a proud uncle to Gene and Gustav Brugger.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a graveside service in his honor on October 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM, held at Hollywood Cemetery 1621 Stuyvesant Ave. in Union, New Jersey.
Raymond J Robertozzi lived a life filled with service, passion, and love for those around him. His memory will forever be respected and celebrated by all who knew him.
