Reiner Bakstad

Reiner O. Bakstad, 61 of Lake Hiawatha passed away on July 1, 2015 at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover.

A funeral service will be held at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Wednesday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Visitation is on Tuesday from 7-9 PM.

Born in Fuert, Germany, Reiner lived in Lake Hiawatha since 1955. He was a chef at Genesis Health Care Center in Parsippany for 25 years. Always a free spirit, Reiner loved fishing and gambling; especially going to casinos and playing rub off lottery tickets.

Reiner was the loving son of Erik and Gertrude Bakstad; dear brother of Tammy, Alan, David, Erik and the late Harry; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
