Richard W. Brownbridge
Richard W. Brownbridge of Union passed away on April 27, 2021. Husband of Shelley, devoted father of Michael and Mallory, father in law of Jeff, and the best PopPop to Parker and Finnegan.
Richard served in the US Army & NJ National Guard. He retired as Police Sergeant from the West Orange Police Department after 25 years of loyal dedication. In his next chapter, he enjoyed woodworking and truly proved to be a master craftsman. "Dicky" dedicated many years of his life to the American Legion as the Commander. He also transformed the Teener Baseball field into a showplace. His presence, sense of humor, and larger than life heart will be sorely missed.
Due to covid, the family has opted to bypass a viewing. The family will be meeting in the parking lot and then the procession will be leaving from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union, on Friday, May 7 at 10:00am, arriving at Fairmount Cemetery, 620 Central Ave., Newark, at 11:00 am for a graveside service. Immediately following the service, please join Richard's family and friends for a private outdoor celebration of life under the tent at Mario's Tutto Bene, 495 Chestnut St, Union.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers that you make memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project
in his memory.
