Loving Father and Grandfather; a Stand-Up Guy

Richard F. Ruggeri, Sr., 78 of Mountainside passed away on August 15, 2020.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation for Richard at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Saturday from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mountainside on Saturday at 2 PM. Cremation will be held privately.

Born in Rahway, Richard grew up in Clark and lived there before moving to South Plainfield, and finally to Mountainside in 1977. Richard owned and operated American Metal Working Services in Mountainside for the past 38 years. Richard and his family were devoted parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes Church for many years. He was an avid hockey fan, and enjoyed fishing; but most of all treasured time spent with his grandkids. Known all around as a stand-up guy, Richard was a well respected businessman, and enjoyed going to lunch with his many business colleagues.

Richard was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen (nee Parry) Ruggeri; loving father of Richard Ruggeri, Jr., and Michael P. Ruggeri; proud grandfather of Michael Ruggeri, Jr., Christopher Ruggeri and Isabella Ruggeri; dear brother of Robert Ruggeri and Arlene C. Casale. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
