Richard Santangelo

Richard Santangelo, 90 of Springfield, NJ passed away on September 29, 2016.

A Visitation will be held at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Tuesday, October 4 from 11AM-3PM, with a Funeral Service being celebrated at 2:30 PM. Cremation will be private.

Born in Newark, Richard was a longtime resident before moving to Springfield. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the Army during World War II. Later, Richard worked as a manager at the Star Ledger for many years before retiring. He enjoyed gardening and caring for his flowers.

Richard always loved being around people, and was great at being able to put a smile on your face. A sensative man, he forever helped those in need and skimped on himself while splurging on others.

Richard is the husband of Frances Santangelo; step-father of Chuck Wille and his wife Vicki; grandfather of Matthew and Julia; and brother of Peter Santangelo and his wife Vera. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
