Rita Vazquez (nee Beiro) 71, of Springfield died on Tuesday February 4, 2014, at The Berkley Heights Nursing and Rehab Center.

The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Saturday at 8 am. The funeral mass is at St. James Church in Springfield at 9 am. Interment will take place in Spain. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 pm.

Born in Spain, she lived in Bayonne from 1969 - 2008, before moving to Springfield for the last 6 years.

Rita was the wife of the late Sergio Vazquez, and is the mother of Augustin Vazquez and his wife Maria, and Manuela Martinez and her husband Jose Luis. She is also the sister of Antonio, Jose, Fernando, and Manuela Beiro, and Florentina Quintela, as well as the grandmother of David, Luis, and   Gabriella Martinez, and Victoria and Adrian Vazquez.
