Robert P. Piccirillo
Robert P. Piccirillo, 89, of Union, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 from complications from the Covid-19 virus. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Bridget Ann (Kosker), his parents Pasquale Piccirillo, Mary Barrasso, and siblings John, Art, Don and Rosalie Piccirillo.
Leaving behind his loving son, Robert J. Piccirillo, and his wife, Karen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert graduated from East Orange High School in 1949 and after completed certifications from the Newark College of Engineering. He was a member of the U.S. Armed forces and honorably discharged in 1960. Robert later joined the Department of Transportation where he served for 38 years. He was a lifelong athlete, all state baseball player, sports enthusiast, and talented pianist. Outside of work, Robert would perform on the piano for family and friends with routines that emulated Jimmy Durante.
Robert Piccirillo also served as Treasurer for the Elmwood Tigers Athletic Association Inc., where he enjoyed socializing, running events, and entertaining members.
Robert was looked at by his family and friends as a true inspiration by having deep compassion for others and caring for his family. He was loved and admired by all who knew him and he will be missed.
The private funeral will take place at Galante Funeral Home in Union with burial to follow in Hollywood Memorial Park.
