Roger J. Talish Sr. 70 passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on September 22, 2012.
The Funeral Service will be from the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Thursday at 11 AM. Cremation will be at Rosedale Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
Roger was born in Passaic, NJ. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1964 from the N.J. Institute of Technology.
He was co- founder of Juvent, a medical device company with proprietary technologies that provide non-invasive, mechanical/physical stimulation for musculoskeletal injury and disease. Prior to Juvent he was a founder of Exogen which is a medical device company. He also served as a Chief Engineer and Director of Engineering Product Support and Engineering for Electro-Biology, Inc., a pioneer company in the development of bone growth stimulation.
Mr. Talish currently holds forty two Patents, twenty five of which are in the use of ultrasound in the musculoskeletal/bone stimulation field. He also has twelve patents pending.
Roger will be remembered as a key figure in the world of orthopedics and medicine.
Roger was a mentor to everyone he worked with, but his family was the most important thing to him. He coached all of his children’s sports teams and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He often said that his family was his greatest accomplishment. He also was a passionate animal lover. Let each of us hope that we can leave a legacy as great as Roger when our time comes to go home.
He is the husband of Betty (nee Schweighardt). The father of Roger Talish, Jr. and his wife Debra, David M. Talish and his fiancée Alicia, Christopher A. Talish and his wife Katie and Nicole M. Talish (Curtis) and her husband Scott. He is the beloved grandfather of Derek, Kyle, Kelly, Audrey, Allison, Spencer, Samuel and Gabriel. He also survived by his beloved dog Tucker.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital would be appreciated.
