Romilda Lourenco Esteves, 72, of Whiting, previously of Union, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial gathering celebrating Romilda's life on Tuesday, December 27th from 10 am to 12 pm, with a memorial service at 11:30 am.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to the late Manoel and Yolanda (Ferreira) Esteves, Romilda immigrated to the United States in 1966 to Hackensack, NJ, and moved to Garwood, then to Union for many years, before moving to Whiting a year ago. Romilda was a well educated woman. After graduating from Hackensack High School in 1970, she went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Montclair State University and also a post baccalaureate major in accounting at Kean University, She worked at Loreal for 25 years and also had worked at Center for Ambulatory Services in Mountainside as a HR rep./AP processor until her retirement.

Romilda's three most favorite things she loved was opera, the arts, and traveling.

Romilda is survived by her loving brother Roberto and his wife Vania Esteves, her many first and second cousins, who loved her dearly, and her many cherished friends.
