Rose Marie Ventura

Rose Marie (nee Ferroni) Ventura, 84 passed away on February 8, 2025. As a beloved matriarch and a person of remarkable strength, Rose inspired all who had the privilege to know her.

Born to Italian immigrant parents in Newark, NJ, Rose was the eldest of eight siblings, including five brothers and two younger sisters. Throughout her life, she exemplified familial dedication, often serving as the cornerstone for her loved ones. She was not only a devoted sister, mother, and grandmother but also a cherished friend and aunt. Her ability to welcome others into her life was demonstrated through her perpetually open door to friends and family, always treating them with warmth and grace.

In her early years, Rose divorced from her only husband but held her head high, never speaking ill of him. She raised two children on her own while managing three jobs, successfully saving enough to purchase her own home unassisted. Her work ethic set a high standard, and her children’s friends often found a second home with her, benefitting from her nurturing nature.

Rose was incredibly proud of her role as a grandmother, often expressing pride in her grandchildren's talents and achievements. With an unwavering commitment to her family, she repeatedly sacrificed her own needs and desires to ensure that her children could pursue their dreams.

A passionate reader and a published writer of a children’s book, Rose exemplified a thirst for knowledge. At the age of 50, she returned to college to attain a higher pay grade, proving that it is never too late to follow one’s aspirations. Her culinary skills were unmatched; she was renowned for her delicious cheesecakes, eggplant parmesan, escarole and beans, and stuffed peppers, all of which became family favorites.

As a sister, she was the go-to person for everyone during times of joy and hardship alike. As a mother-in-law, she was regarded as one of the greatest, and her friendships lasted a lifetime, earning her the title of a forever friend. She accomplished all that she did with elegance and grace, often downplaying her achievements and never seeking congratulations.

Friends and family are invited to honor her memory at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Monday February 10, 2025. The memorial gathering will begin at 2:00 PM and will continue until 6:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life scheduled for 5:00 PM.

Rose Marie Ventura leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire, providing comfort and guidance to those she loved.
