Prignano, Rose, 105 passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Aug. 14, 2016.

Rose was a longtime resident of Union. She was the matriarch of her family who was loved and cherished by all who knew her. Rose was kind, generous and giving person who always had her door open to anyone that wanted to visit. Over the years she hosted family and friends from out-of state many, many times. Everyone always loved coming to Rose's house. She was a great cook and always ready for company. She had a "magic refrigerator". No matter how many people showed up, there was always enough food to feed them and always room for family and friends at her famous dining table. After living a great life in both the Ironbound and Vailsburg sections of Newark she then settled in Union.

Rose was married to Joseph Prignano, who pre-deceased her on June 10, 2008. She is survived by her loving children: Joseph and wife Gayle, Victor and wife Diane and Robert and wife Mary, her adoring grandchildren: Amy Salinger and husband Howard, Victor Prignano and wife Karen, Robert Prignano, Joseph Dixon and wife Sandra, Timothy Dixon and wife Kelly and Anthony Dixon and her precious great- grandchildren: Matthew, Emma, Isabelle, Danielle, Victor, Stella, Ashley, Jonathan and Adam.

Funeral service at the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. in Union on Monday at 9:30 AM

Visitation on Sunday from 2 -6 PM

Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery
