Rosemary Baudermann, 94 of Union passed away quietly at home on October 30, 2014.
Born in Newark, she lived most of her adult life in Union. At a time when few women worked in such a field, she was a pioneer in machining and welding. She worked at Victory Engineering, a precision electronic parts and instrument company, in Union for many years in a variety of capacities, eventually becoming a production supervisor.
Rosemary was a woman with wide ranging interests and talents. Her outdoor avocations included horseback riding, hunting and fishing. She was a life-long walker who loved animals, especially cats, dogs and birds. When she owned a home on Liberty Avenue, she kept a garden with vegetables, herbs and fruit trees. She enjoyed traveling, from Great Swamp to the Grand Canyon.
Her creative abilities included knitting, crocheting, stitchery and needlepoint. She was also a talented artist; her oil paintings were always a treasure. She was a good cook who loved being creative in the kitchen. She was a life-long learner, an avid reader and a big “Sopranos” fan.
Rosemary was the youngest of five children; she lived on her own and independently from the age of 16 until her death. She was predeceased by her four siblings; and is survived by her two nephews Jay Baudermann of Massachusetts and Robert Kirschner of Florida; as well as four nieces: Jean White of Westfield, Joan Fonte of Pennsylvania, Mary Lou Barone of Washington Twp., and Marilyn Chorba of New York.
The cremation will be held privately under the direction of Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Rosemary’s memory may be made to the Union County SPCA, 90 St. Georges Ave. Rahway, NJ 07065.
