Salustiano Bonet Sr.

Salustiano Bonet Sr. passed away on October 19, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication and love that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

Salustiano was born on September 8, 1952, in Puerto Rico. He was raised in Newark, New Jersey and later lived in Union, New Jersey. His professional life was marked by an impressive 27-year tenure as a superintendent at Grandview Gardens in Bridgewater. His commitment to his work and the community was unwavering, as he ensured the well-being of the residents and the upkeep of the gardens he oversaw.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Salustiano proudly served 29 years in the Army as part of the National Guard from 1973 to 2002. His dedication to service exemplified his strong sense of duty and commitment.

He is survived by his beloved companion, Ann Bonet nee DeFalco, and two sons, Keith and Salustiano Bonet Jr. He is also survived by his loving daughter-in-laws, Yolanda and Cristina, and step-daughter, Theresa "Terry" Cruz. Salustiano was also a grandfather to Davina, Isis, and Iman. Salustiano is also survived by his siblings Benito Bonet Jr., Virginia Perez, Carmen Rodriguez, Anna Badillo, and Gladys Diaz.

A visitation will be held on October 26, 2024, at Galante Funeral Home at 2800 Morris Avenue in Union, starting at 4:00 PM and concluding at 8:00 PM. A prayer service will be held during the visitation beginning at 6:30 PM.

Salustiano Bonet will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched.
