Salvatore Cetrulo, 85 of North Caldwell passed away on September 29, 2024.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass for Sal at Notre Dame Church, 359 Central Ave. North Caldwell on Friday October 4 at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Galante Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Born in Newark, Sal has lived in North Caldwell for 60 years. He was the owner of Sal Mar Construction Company for many years, and enjoyed days spent golfing and hunting up at the farm.
Sal touched so many hearts, especially those of his many friends. Everything that he did was for his family, who he held nearest to him of all. Always wanting the best for everyone, Sal was selfless, and was there for anyone in need at a moment's notice. Known to all as Uncle Sal, he did so much for so many, and he is now their guardian angel.
Sal was the beloved husband of Marlene (nee Angelo) Cetrulo; after 72 years of being together, a hole is in her heart that can never be mended. He was the loving father of Lynne Cetrulo, Renee Cetrulo and her partner Lisa, and the late Sal Cetrulo, Jr. He was like a father to his cherished grandchildren Sal Tobia and his wife Alexa and Jenna Curcio and her husband Jonathan. His adored great-grandchildren completed him: Jonathan, Andelina, Ariana, Eliana and Luciana. Sal was also the treasured brother of Joseph Cetrulo and his wife Helen, and Louise Fair and her husband the late Stoner, and is also survived by his sisters-in-law Dolores Cetrulo, Ann Cetrulo, Judy Dowd and JoAnn Angelo. He was predeceased by his sister Mildred Diana and her husband Frank, brothers Ray Cetrulo and Gerald Cetrulo, and by his many loving in-laws. Sal is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
