Salvatore S. Onofrietti

Salvatore S. Onofrietti, 68, of Caldwell, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Hackensack Medical Center.

The funeral will be from Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell on Saturday at 9 am. A funeral service will be held at 10 am followed by an entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation is on Friday from 4 - 8 pm.

Salvatore was born in Newark and lived in Caldwell for 20 years. He was a longshoreman at the International Longshoreman's Association in Elizabeth, retiring 6 years ago. He was a member of the ILA Local 1235 in Newark and also served in the US Army.

Sal was a hard working, kind hearted man who loved watching action movies, boating down the shore, and especially enjoyed being with his family.

He was the beloved husband of Deborah (nee Sullivan) Onofrietti; loving father of Michael Onofrietti, Stephen Onofrietti, James Weisner, and Laura Weisner; cherished grandfather of Anthony, Joseph, Amanda and Brandon; brother of Robert Onofrietti. Predeceased by his parents Margie (nee Orlando) and Joseph B. Onofrietti.
