Salvatore Picariello

Salvatore J. Picariello, 89 of East Hanover passed away on July 19, 2022.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Sal at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Tuesday July 26 from 10am to 1pm, with a funeral service to be held at 12:30 PM. Cremation is private.

Born in Newark, Sal was a longtime Down Neck resident and has lived in East Hanover for the past 35 years. In his younger years, Sal was a Quarterback for the football team at East Side High School. A self made entrepreneur his entire life, Sal owned parking garages, car lots and restaurants. He was the co-owner of People's Auto Sales in Irvington for many years. Sal enjoyed playing golf, and was a founding member of Panther Valley Country Club. Sal most treasured time spent with his many dear friends.

Sal was the beloved husband of Marcia (nee Goldman) Picariello; loving father of Salvatore Picariello and his wife Suzanne and Gerard Picariello; cherished grandfather of Alyssa, Amanda, Gianna and Sophie. Sal is also survived by many loving cousins.
