Sam Roberts 85, of Rockaway, NJ died on Sunday January 18, 2015 at St. Clare Hospital in Denville.

The funeral service will be in the Galante Funeral Home  2800 Morris Avenue Union on Thursday at 11am. Interment will follow in Arlington Cemetery in Kearny. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.

Born in Beckley, West Va. he lived in the Ironbound section of  Newark before moving to Rockaway 12 years ago. He was an electrical assemblyman with Federal Pacific Electric in Newark for 40 years. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Sam was the husband of the late Tina Roberts, and is the father of Tony De Oliveira, Marie Rossi, and Denise Milintschuk. He is also the grandfather of  Rick, Melissa, and Craig, and the great grandfather of Justin. Also he is best companions of Molly, Mugsy, and Rocky.
