Samuel A. Altiero 90, of Lakewood, died on Monday May 27 ^th , 2013, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick.

The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, on Thursday at 9:30 AM. The funeral mass is at St. Rose of Lima Church in Short Hills, at 11:15 AM. Entombment will follow in St. Theresa Cemetery in Summit. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Born in Newark, he lived there before moving to Lakewood 18 years ago. He worked in various positions for the city of Newark for 44 years, retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the US Marines serving during WWII in the battle of Iwo Jima.

Samuel was married to his wife Jean ( nee Maiorino) for 60 years. He is the father of Sam and his wife Kate, Gary and his wife Lissa, Bob and his wife Gina , & Lori Altiero . He also is the Father in law of Rev. Elizabeth Stolfi. He was predeceased by 4 brothers and 3 Sisters. He is also the grandfather of Jillian, Sam, Jonathan, Allison, Olivia, and Matthew.
