Stanley Zaleski 93, of Union died on Sunday May 5 ^th , 2013 at Care One of Livingston.

The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, on Friday at 8:15 am. The funeral mass is at St. James Church in Springfield at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 pm.

Born in Newark, he lived in Irvington, before moving to Union 33 years ago.  He was a mason for Maas & Waldstein & Sons in Newark for 35 years until he retired 28 years ago. He then became a crossing guard for the Springfield Police Dept. for 15 years. He was also a veteran of the US Army and Navy serving during WWII, and was a former member of the BPO Elks Lodge # 1583 in Union.

Stanley was married to his late wife Mary (nee Musolino) for 61 years until she passed away this past March. He was the father of Eileen Iannarone and her husband Nick, Ronald Zaleski and his wife Deborah, Kathleen Martinez and her husband Richard, and the late Diane Zaleski. He was also the brother of Morton Zaleski, and the late Mary Luden, as well as the grandfather of Nicholas, Marissa, Lauren, Alicia, and Rachel.
