STEVEN G. ZACKOWSKI

At the age of 59 the gates of heaven opened wide for Steven G. Zackowski after an 11-year battle with cancer.  His will to survive and to live life to the fullest, was an inspiration to every individual who was blessed to have known him.

Steven left on this earth so many loved ones.  He was the loving “deadhead” father to two sets of twins. His four children - Michael and Paul, Kimberly, and Peter never failed to benefit and be guided by his unconditional love and support.   He was so proud of each and every one of them.

Then God sent Steve to Maureen, and the angels chose for Joseph and Jaclyn, the best step-dad on this planet.

He was so lucky to have his family joined by two sensitive and caring daughter in-laws, Sara and Carrie and he found one amazing son-in-law in Barry.

Steven’s love for his brothers Alan and Robert, his wife Toni, and his precious niece Jennifer and nephew Alex was boundless.

When he could, he had to fight with himself to decide which he would rather do - head out to the boat to fish the ocean depths for hours or to jump on his prized Harley for a “spin”.    He enjoyed his membership with the Jersey Sons Motor Cycle Club and talked endlessly of the friends that he made there.  As well you might have found him cheering (loudly) on the bleachers at one of the RP softball or basketball games!!!

On a rainy day, this music lover would put his tunes on in the fireplace room and kick back to listen.  An avid concert-goer, he attended more concerts than most of us could ever hope to see.

Although he recently retired after 39 years of hard work with Schering Plough/Merck Pharmaceutical, we all know that his best work was done with and for his family and friends.  The caring spirit that he put into each and every relationship, will surely be missed by all.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM

A family memorial service will be held Thursday evening.
