Terence L. Chatman passed away April 8, 2023 surrounded by family at University Hospital in Newark, NJ, at age 53. Born in Newark, NJ and currently residing in Florham Park, NJ.
Terry was currently working at New Pathway Counseling where he worked with adolescents and at The Center for Great Expectations where he worked with adults suffering from Substance Use Disorder.
Terry was an inspiration to so many. He has touched many lives over the years and was a man who loved his family more than words could ever express.
Terry showed many people what it was like to fall and get back up and that our mistakes are actually lessons and they do not define us, they help us grow. Terry was a hard worker that always tried to bring out the best in others. Terry will truly be missed.
He was predeceased by his Father Willie Chatman Sr., and sons Justin Chatman and Shabay Chatman. Survived by his mother, Yvonne Chatman, sons, Terence Chatman Jr., Jaden Chatman, fiancé Dayna Driscoll, and future stepchildren Lailah and Tyson, Sisters: Renae, Wanda and Darlene, Brothers: Willie Jr. and Frankie, and a host of nieces and nephews: Shantavia,Ian, Jaqueah, Hafisah, Tanisha, Nasir, Precious, Genee, Kyisha, Shakur, Destiny, Denise, Ronald, Mahasin and Mezziah.
Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave, Union, on Saturday, April 22nd, at 9 AM. Followed by Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment in Rosemount Memorial Park in Elizabeth, NJ.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Terence on Friday, April 21st, from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
