Thaddeus "Teddy" A. Chupa, 100 of West Caldwell passed away on April 20, 2017.
A Graveside service with military honors will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 40 Thomas St. Caldwell on Tuesday April 25, 2017 at 11 AM. Arrangements are entrusted to the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell.
Born in Montclair, NJ in 1917 to Polish immigrants Paul and Mary Chupa, Teddy was raised in Kearny with his siblings Eddie, Victor and Wanda. He married his first wife Virginia (nee Tiemann) of Roselle Park, who passed away in 1977. Teddy served his country in World War II as a Sergeant in the Army Air Force, stationed in Harlingen, TX and later at Truax Field in Madison, WI as a B59 aircraft radio mechanic. A member of the 478 Flexible Gunnery Squad, he earned medals for excellent marksmanship.
After the War, Teddy worked at Schering-Plough Pharmaceutical Company in Kenilworth for 40 years, working as an overseas marketing director for new products. In his leisure time, he was an avid skier, swimmer and salt water fisherman.
Teddy is survived by his sister Wanda, daughter Ginger Calder, son-in-law German Calder, and grand-daughter Alexandra.
In lieu of flowers the donations to the St. Huberts Animal Welfare Center, Madison, NJ. would be appreciated.
