Theresa D’Uva of Caldwell, NJ, age 54, surrounded by loved ones, passed on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Mountainside Medical Center. Theresa was born on July 18, 1966 in Newark, NJ. Along with her sister, Antoinette, Theresa was raised in Caldwell. She graduated from James Caldwell High School in 1983.
As a young woman, Theresa was a cosmetologist and enjoyed the world of beauty. She spent most of her adult life raising her daughter in East Hanover. A wonderful cook and talented baker, she carried on her mother’s family recipes and friends and family looked forward to her dishes like her famous linguini and clams. She would always visit bringing special treats like a delicious sauce, brownies and upside down crumb cake. But Theresa’s greatest passion was her family - she lived for them; her home was decorated with family photographs and from a very early age, her daughter, Daniela’s artwork was center stage on the refrigerator door. Daniela was her world. She adored and loved her with her entire being. Theresa was nurturing, fun and had a laugh that will be hard to forget. She looked forward to spending each summer in Ortley Beach and created many beautiful memories there. Family dinners overlooking the ocean and her summertime fun, making pina coladas for her friends, were special and treasured moments.
She was predeceased by her loving parents, Gabriel and Mary (Sia) D'Uva and will be greatly missed by her loving daughter, Daniela Mazzella and by her dear sister, Antoinette D'Uva. She is also survived and forever remembered by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, her former husband and friend, Frank and by her adored dog, Bella.
