Theresa L. Herkalo

Theresa Herkalo (nee Pico) 75 of Springfield passed away at home surrounded by her family on February 17, 2012.


Born in Morristown she lived in Madison before moving to Springfield in 1964.


She is the wife of Andrew S. Herkalo, Sr. The mother of Andrew Jr. and Louis Herkalo and Rosemarie Hartley. The daughter of the late Louis and Vincenza (nee Nuzzo) Pico. The sister of MaryAnne Wagner and the late Alice Herkalo. She is the grandmother of Brandon, Lauren and Matthew Herkalo. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, and by her dog Sing.


Theresa worked for the Springfield Recreation Department as a secretary for 32 years before retiring in 2005. She loved to spend time with her family and to visit casinos.


Visitation is at the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave., Union on Sunday from 1-5 PM. Cremation is private.
