Thomas Bontempo

Thomas J. Bontempo 71, passed away on July 21, 2016.

Funeral arrangements are private under the direction of Galante Funeral Home, Union. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Thomas was born in Dayton Ohio and lived in the Vailsburg section of Newark then Florham Park for 25 years before moving to Florida.

A graduate of Seton Hall Prep where he was Captain of the Golf team.

Graduate of Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.

Past president of Braidburn Corp., which owned and operated Braidburn Country Club in Florham Park.

Thomas was an accomplished golfer, winning four consecutive Braidburn championships. He played in several open and amateur championships and won the 1970 NJSGA Best Ball of Four championship with his brother and two friends.

Donations in his memory to St. Barnabas Medical Center or NJSGA Caddy Scholarship Fund in Union would be appreciated.

Husband of Bette (nee Dunbar).

Brother of Paul.

Pre deceased by his parents Salvatore A., Belle (nee Fernicola) and Gloria (nee Manzardo)

who raised from age 4.
