Thomas Marasco
Thomas Marasco, 83 of Newark, entered peacefully into eternal life on Tuesday, March 31st at his residence.
Born October 21, 1931 in Newark to the late Vincenzo & Filomena (nee: Rainone) Marasco, he was a lifelong resident. After graduating from Eastside High School, Thomas enlisted in the US Army, where he proudly served his country from 1952-1954, in Germany. When he returned home from the service, he began a long career as a Warehouse Manager for Food Fare, later Foodtown Supermarkets, for over 40 years, retiring in the 1990’s. He was a member of the Buccinese Club & the VFW, both of downneck & a former member of the Italian American War Veterans. Affectionately known as Uncle Tommy, he was always there for his nieces and nephews and would often pile them in the car and go somewhere to their surprise. He is predeceased by his parents and siblings, Marie Ciallella & Joseph Marasco. Surviving to cherish his memory are his siblings, Jeannette Marasco, Josephine Buffardi, Lucy Grimaldi, Dolores Fabbricatore with her husband Michael “Mickey” & Frances Campbell with her husband Donald, his companion, Angelina D’Allessandro & many loving nieces & nephews.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 7th at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 259 Oliver Street, Newark. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will be held in Private. In lieu of flowers, The family prefers that
