Timothy Pimpinelli

Timothy Pimpinelli 89, of Manchester, NJ passed away at Community Medical Center in Toms River on December 8, 2013.

The Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 54 Roseland Ave. , Caldwell on Saturday.

The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell at 11 AM.

Cremation will be private.

Visitation is on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 AM.

Born in Jersey City , NJ he lived in Manchester for 10 years. Timothy worked in the garment industry for most of his life.

During WW II as a young man of 19 years of age he enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Force. He served as an Airplane Power Plans Mechanic. He was a tail gunner in the 445th Bomb Group on the B24 Liberator "Sweetest Rose of Texas", completing 35 missions.

He participated in the battles and campaigns in Northern France, Ardennes and in Germany . He received the following citations and decorations: The Air Medal with one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, a Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Bronze Service Stars and One overseas Service Bar. He was honorably discharged from the 2523 ^rd Army Air Force Base Unit on September 14, 1945 with the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Timothy is survived by his loving wife, MaryAnn (nee Matuszczak); his son Timothy Pinelli; his devoted daughter, Elaine Ortiz and her husband, Joseph.  He is the brother of Joseph Pimpinelli and the late Salvatore Pimpinelli.  He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Tara and Justin and his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
