Born in Paterson, NJ, Ronnie lived there before moving to Clifton, NJ, and then to Millington, NJ. Always having loved the Jersey Shore, she and her husband decided to no longer be "bennys" and moved to Mystic Island in 2006. After building their beautiful dream home on the water at the Jersey Shore, Ronnie and her husband, Tommy, decided to split her time between New Jersey and Las Vegas. Ronnie graduated from William Paterson University with a degree in Early Childhood Education, and later earned a master's degree in Science from Pace University. She was a third grade teacher at School #6 in Paterson, later becoming a project manager for IBM for many years before retiring.
Ronnie loved traveling to New York City, and she frequently went to cheer on her New York Yankees, or to attend a new broadway show. A very creative woman, she treasured time spent knitting, and making crafts at the seashore with her grandchildren. Ronnie was well-loved among her many friends, and especially enjoyed being a Las Vegas socialite! Known for her big beautiful blue eyes and infectious smile, Ronnie had a fabulous sense of style and was a true fashionista.
Ronnie was the daughter of the late Katharine E. (nee Henderson) Mitchell and George Layer; the beloved wife of Thomas Keefe; loving mother of Tracey Travers and her husband Bill. Step-mother of Kelly Stewart and her husband Mark and Kathy Keefe. Cherished grandmother of Cassidy, Melissa, Austin and Logan. She was also the dear sister of Regina Gourley and her husband Joe.
