Victoria Almeida

Victoria Almeida, 95 years old and forever young at heart, passed away peacefully at 9:20AM on April 9th, 2024 in West Orange, NJ.

She was born on March 31, 1929 in the countryside of Gouveia, Portugal, where she grew up on a farm. It was there that she developed a strong work ethic and joyful attitude that she eventually carried with her to New Jersey, where she immigrated in 1968.

Victoria was preceded in death by her beloved husband Issac Almeida. She was Mother to her son Jorge, Grandmother to Jorge and Lisa, and Great Grandmother to Fiona and Noah.

Whether she was tilling soil, planting seeds, or reaping the fruits, Victoria remained active and in touch with nature throughout her entire life. Her many skills brought her happiness and she always appreciated hard work. But she also knew how to rest; playing with her great grandchildren brought her untold happiness and she found humor in the mundane, laughing with intense joy and lighting up the room on holidays and family get-togethers.

We will miss Victoria’s smile and warm touch, and carry her spirit forever in our hearts.  

As she requested, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
