Vincent M. Sabatino

Vincent M. Sabatino 98, of the Ironbound section of Newark passed away on Sunday April 9, 2017.

The funeral service will be in the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, on Thursday April 20, 2017 at 12 noon.

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, N.J.

Visitation will be on Thursday April 20, 2017 from 10 AM  - 12 noon.

Born in Newark he lived there until he moved to Belleville, and then back to Newark (Ironbound section) for many years.

He was a manager for various supermarkets in the Newark, - Jersey City area for 49 years.

He then became a postal worker for the US Post Office in Newark for 13 years retiring from there 19 years ago.

He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII serving as a combat Medic reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Vincent was married to his late wife Ellen (nee Michelson) for 56 years until she passed away in 1998.

He is the father of Barbara E. Ward and her husband Michael, and the late Richard V. Sabatino Sr.

He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren Richard Sabatino Jr. Michele Altmann, & Carolyn Krytzer,

and by his great grandchildren Tyler and Sean.
