Vito A. Volpe Sr. 89, of Union died on Friday June 13, 2014 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit. The funeral will be on Wednesday At 9 am from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union. The funeral mass will be in St. Michael Church in Union at 10:15 am. Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Born in  Newark he lived in Union for 39 years. He was a Postal Clerk at the US Post Office in Newark for 28 years, retiring 24 years ago. A veteran of WWII He served in the US Navy, and was a member of the VFW Michael A. Kelly Post # 2433, the Knights of Columbus Council # 4504 and  the Union Twp. Senior Citizens Club all in Union.

Vito was married to his wife Clara (Di Napoli) for 51 years, and is the father of Vito A. Jr. Daniel P, and Michael M. Volpe, as well as the brother of Angelina Caccavella, and the late Nicholas Volpe.
