Wanda Conneely

Wanda Conneely (nee Majek) of Union NJ

She passed away peacefully into eternity on Nov. 9, 2020 at the age of 101.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on Oct. 22, 1919 to Jacob and Mary Majek.

She moved to Newark NJ as a child and then to Irvington, Union and Toms River.

She had one brother and four sisters, two of whom are still living, Genievieve and Irene.

She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas (Buddy) Conneely.

While in Irvington she had her own beauty salon for many years.

She belonged to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Irvington and was  very  active in the many societies.

She loved to knit especially baby outfits and afghans and passes this love on to her girls.

She loved traveling to the islands and especially Florida. She led a full, active life.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Marianne  and her husband Ken Kurnath of Clifton, Judy Broderick of Point Pleasant, Linda DeFranco of Chatham, Jacqueline Nann of Waretown, and Tom Conneely and his wife Brenda of  Watchung, formerly of Union.
She is survived by 9 grandchildren (and their spouses): Kevin Kurnath, Christopher DeFranco, Marcus DeFranco,

Tiffany (DeFranco) Cassesse, Brian Nann, Garrett Nann, Jimmy Nann, Lindsay Conneely (Zahodnick) & T.J. Conneely.
She is predeceased by 2 grandchildren: The late Keith Kurnath and Gregory Broderick.

She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren. ,

Funeral services will be private at  The  Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave, Union NJ on Friday November 13, 2020.

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven, East Hanover NJ.
