Wayne A. Cross

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Wayne passed away suddenly, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Wayne was a smart, respectful, funny and loyal person to all that knew him, but his greatest attribute in life was his unending love for his family and friends. 

It is an honor to tell you about such an exceptional man. Wayne was the loving son of Wayne Cross and Joanne Cross. The proud father of Luciana, Antonio and Taormina. The dear brother of Martine Shepard and her husband Nick as well as the beloved boyfriend to Tara Zito. He is also survived by his nephew Nicholas and niece & God-daughter Scarlett, as well as by his many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Wayne held many titles in his life but his favorite role was being a father to his three children. He loved nothing more then spending time with them and taking them on vacations. Born in Livingston, Wayne grew up in Nutley and has lived in Roseland for the past 18 years. A self-made entrepreneur, Wayne was always looking for his next project. He was an avid sports fan, and loved cheering on his San Francisco 49ers. Wayne looked forward to spending time down the shore each summer with his family. Wayne will be forever missed by his family and many friends. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Wayne at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Tuesday January 9 from 2-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael Church in Livingston on Wednesday at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Flowers are appreciated, or if preferred, donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
