William Samuel Alexander Allister

William Samuel Alexander Allister, 86, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2018.

William was born in New York City.  After moving to New Jersey as a child, William graduated from Hillside High School.

He moved to Union in 1956 with his wife, Evelyn, (formerly White) where they raised their three children.

William worked for the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., retiring after 44 years of service.

He has been a member of Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church for over 60 years.

He was an active member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Union Lodge #1583.

William is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Evelyn.

He was the loving father to his daughter Deborah Glaser and her husband Mark,

his son William Thomas and his wife Patricia,

and his daughter Diane Novak and her husband Edward.

William will also be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Steven Glaser and his wife, Erika, David Glaser and his wife, Joanna, Molly Allister, Thomas Novak, Daniel Novak, and Richard Novak and his two great grandchildren Shannon Glaser and Dylan Glaser.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm.

The funeral service will be celebrated in the Galante Funeral Home on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:30 am.

Interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, N,J.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in William’s name to Connecticut Farms Church designated to the Scholarship Fund .
