William Harrison Jr.
On Tuesday, August 11, 2020, William (“Bill”) Harrison, Jr. loving husband and father of four children, passed away at the age of 75. Bill was born on July 29, 1945 in Jackson, North Carolina the tenth child of William and Kate (Sherin) Harrison. After completing his education in North Carolina, Bill settled in New Jersey in 1965. On March 9, 1972, Bill married Dinorah Quesada. They raised two children together, William Harrison III and Monica (Harrison) Edwards. Over the course of his life Bill worked hard to support his family and found satisfaction in his work first as a jeweler for over 30 years, most recently with G&S Creations in Verona, NJ, and then as a ramp agent for American Airlines.
Bill had a deep passion for his family. He also loved to entertain and socialize with his sisters and closest friends. He was an avid music enthusiast and loved to dance. Some of his favorite genres included early Motown soul, R&B, and Salsa. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and generous spirit.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Sr., his mother Kate, sisters Bernadine, Johnnie Mae, Theresa, Virginia, and brother David. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dinorah, his four children Jackie, Cedric, William III, and Monica, his daughter in law Tondalaya Hall his seven grandchildren, Jerome Stroud III, Donnell Tyler, Cedric G. Hall, Zoe Hall, Jessenia Edwards, Lorenzo Edwards IV, and BrooklynHarrison, his great grandchildren, Mia Robinson and Nasir Tyler, his sisters Joann Flowers, Katie Harrison, Lottie Smith, Naomi Holman, and Tina Harrison, his brothers-in-law, Larry Holman, and Richard Smith, his daughter-in-law, Natasha McDougall-Harrison, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A viewing and funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18. Viewing will be held from 11:00AM-1:00PM and the funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM. The viewing and service will be held at Galante Funeral Home located at 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ.
